Meet the Team John & Sue Picardi:John and Sue Picardi launched their careers as wealth managers and financial planners in 2003. Today, John remains in the role of financial advisor, utilizing his background as a CPA to help integrate tax planning into his recommendations and solutions. Sue works in business development and runs the operations of the firm along with Clare Stefan. Together, John and Sue have multiple insurance and securities licenses, including investment advisor representative registrations, allowing John to customize even the most complex financial solutions. Prior to starting a career in wealth management, John spent a number of years as a corporate executive managing Companies with divisions located in Australia, the UK, Belgium, Norway, Switzerland, China, Hong Kong, and Singapore. As a CFO and COO, he was instrumental in several merger and acquisition projects. John has also gained valuable insight over the years by working with business owners, learning first-hand what it’s like to operate a small business of his own. He started his professional career associated with a CPA firm that focused on small to medium-sized businesses, affording him the opportunity to advise business owners on both financial and tax matters.After graduating from college with a BS in Accounting, Sue began her career as a public accountant, going on to become the Assistant Controller at Ralph Lauren Women’s Wear. During this time, high school sweethearts John and Sue married. They have two wonderful daughters and an amazing grandson.The Picardi’s are members of The Kennesaw Business Association and The Acworth Business Association. Sue served as an early morning facilitator of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce Business Builder group for 7 years. John was the past Treasurer (2 times) of the Marietta Business Association. Sue currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Kennesaw Business Association where she serves as the Membership Director and on various other committees. John is the current Chairmen of the Board for the Enrichment for Life Movement (ELM) where he also serves as a volunteer teacher on various financial topics specifically geared towards seniors. John was on the Board of Directors for the Brookstone Men’s Golf Association where he served as Treasurer and President. In their leisure time, John and Sue enjoy golf, reading, piano, going to the gym, traveling and spending time with their family and friends. Ed & Clare Stefan:Ed and Clare joined Active Financial Group in March of 2015. Prior to joining AFG Ed worked with Lincoln Financial Advisors more than 12 years as a financial planner. Clare joined Ed in his business in 2011 as a marketing and client services specialist. Ed is focused on retirement planning for baby boomers and his mission is to help enhance the lives of individuals and families as they plan for and approach retirement. Ed is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® practitioner and has also earned the certification of a CHARTERED RETIREMENT PLANNING COUNSELOR®. Based on his client’s input, Ed works closely with his clients to ensure that they have a clear understanding of their strategic plan for retirement. He works with individuals, families, retirees and business owners in the areas of: Investment planningRetirement income planningMulti-generational estate planningBusiness succession planningEd is very passionate about educating baby boomers and the younger generations on the importance of planning for retirement. He speaks regularly to community groups and shares his knowledge of the challenges of planning for retirement. Some of his seminar topics include: understanding Social Security and strategies to maximize benefits; planning for increased health costs in retirement; the role of Medicare and long-term care; estate planning basics, and retirement income planning. He also speaks to women’s groups and shares strategies on how women can overcome some of the unique financial challenges they face.The Stefan's have been married for 25 years and are active members of the Sandy Springs Perimeter Chamber of Commerce where Clare is an Ambassador to the Chamber. Clare is also a graduate of Leadership Sandy Springs Class of 2013 and is currently serving on the LSS Board of Directors. They are both active in the Fairfield University Alumni Association and Ed is on the Board of the UConn Alumni Atlanta Chapter. Clare maintains her connection with the residential construction industry by serving on the Board of the National Remodeling Foundation and is also on the Steering Committee and is a Peer Group Leader with The Transition Network.They enjoy spending their leisure time traveling, reading, playing golf, fitness training and swimming.Conrad LevesqueBorn in New York, Conrad spent his childhood in Southern California before moving to Georgia. While working in tax preparation during high school, Conrad discovered his passion for accounting, finance, and client relationships. He attended Kennesaw State University where he earned his Bachelor’s in Business Administration and went on to earn an additional degree, a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting. Shortly thereafter Conrad received his CPA designation. In addition to tax and accounting, Conrad’s professional background includes real estate development, business consulting, and financial auditing for the State of Georgia.In 2017, Conrad drew on his many years of professional experience to expand his tax and accounting practice to include consulting and financial planning services, focusing primarily on individuals and small to medium-sized businesses. Conrad is a licensed Financial Advisor, holding multiple insurance and securities licenses, and believes in the value of a comprehensive financial plan. He works with his clients to identify their personal, professional, and financial goals and builds a plan that fits their lives.In his free time, Conrad enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and 7-year-old rescue dog, Mary Jane. He is the third of four siblings and is enjoying being an uncle. He is also an avid sportsman and attempts to play golf as much as possible. Conrad loves giving back and has proudly served on the board for Rock for a Reason, benefiting the Aflac Cancer Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, as well as participating in charity events, fundraisers, and golf tournaments.Carly GoliasRaised in Georgia, Carly went to the University of Georgia to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in Finance with a minor in Financial Planning. Carly began her career as a financial representative in 2012. Since then, she has qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table consistently and furthered her certifications by acquiring the Certified Personal Retirement Specialist (CPRS) designation. Carly specializes in educating her clients, making sure that their plans are on track, and ultimately helping them to achieve their financial goals. She feels very privileged to work so closely with her clients and helping them and their family have confidence and peace of mind.Carly volunteers at her church, Smyrna First United Methodist, and is heavily involved with her community. She has four rescue dogs and enjoys running and playing soccer in her free time. She is very close to her family including her three younger sisters and five nephews and has enjoyed being a large part of their lives growing up.
